Part III
In the Last message, I said that I would speak on how we fulfill the law automatically. So that I will not digress, and stray off this subject, I have placed this message separately under the topic: Fulfilling The Law
Now to continue with our look at Forgiveness....
What happens when you ask for forgiveness? If you understand this, it will help you even more. So let's take a look, go to Ephesians Chapter 1
Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Paul is writing here to those Christians who are in the city of Ephesus, not only those but to all who are faithful in Christ.
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Here is a greeting to them and praising God for the things he has done through his son.
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Realize that God is the "He" and the "Him" that Paul is talking about. It is God who through Jesus Christ has adopted us, as I have mentioned before. It is through Yahshua that we have redemption through his blood, the forgivenes of sins, according to the riches of God's grace.
As Jesus has said, John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. It is through Jesus, that we are able to have forgiveness., If a person has not accepted Jesus as the Messiah, then there can be no salvation, for it is only through Jesus that we may come to the Father.
So when a person asks forgiveness, God looks at that person's heart and asks the question, "Do they love me?"
Luke 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Just as in Verse 4 above of Ephesians, we are blameless before him in love.
James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Once the Father sees that you love him, then the process begins, the blood of Jesus was shed so that you could have this forgiveness. Some teach that everytime a sin is committed, a little blood is shed, if this were so, then we would be crucifying Jesus all over again. No, that blood was shed once and for all times, as is written. The blood covers the sins, and therefore our faith in Jesus, gives us forgiveness.
Then God, seeing that you have been adopted and Love him, takes that sin and forgets it.
Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
This is God speaking here, he blots out that sin from the book(Revelation 20) and it is as if it never happened. So don't remind him of it, it only makes him angry.
Thus, we satrt with a clean slate, unfortunately we as humans have a tendency to keep bringing up our past. Satan likes to play with our minds, and keep reminding us of our past. We must be strong and stay The Word for Today. Pressing toward the goal.
Philemon 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Keep Pressing, God Bless!
Love and Peace.....
