Don't Worry About It

Part I
This week's message is from Matthew Chapter 6:24-34
(KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mammon as used here is the Greek Word 3126 mammonas {mam-mo-nas'} of Aramaic origin (confidence, i.e. wealth, personified);1)mammon, 2) treasure, 3) riches (where it is personified and opposed to God). It is ill-gotten gains, acquired by greed. You cannot serve God and be greedy too.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Jesus says here, "Don't worry about what you are going to eat, or drink, or wear tommorrow." Why? As he states, life; the breath within your body, is more important. This is also speaking of your walk with God. Your relationship with the Father through Jesus the Christ, is more important than anything. That's REAL living!
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Well, are you? God gave us dominion over the creatures of the Earth. They don't plant a garden for themselves, they don't even harvest a crop, God feeds them. Have you ever seen a worried bird or squirrel? How much better are we than they? Yes we are better than they, for we are made in his image.
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Who can make themselves grow one inch by thinking of it? No one can. Remember, the subject here is not worrying. Worrying will not get you no where. You can't grow one centimeter by worrying about it.
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Solomon was indeed very wealthy, it was because he loved God and asked for wisdom and understanding that he recieved those riches. But they were not ill-gotten, they were blessings from the Father. He was clothed very elegantly, yet the Lilies are so much more beautiful.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
If he takes the time to make the grass so beautiful, will he not clothe you even more? Yes he will if you trust in him, keep the faith in him and not the world!
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
For this reason, because he takes so much care for the fields and the things that are less than you, do not think, do not worry about your necessities, why?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Don't worry, because God knows what you need. If you are keeping in touch with him, by studying his Word and praying, then he will supply.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Did you hear that? All these things; food, clothing, shelter, all your needs, will be added to you. Wait though, there is one condition here. You must first, seek the Kingdom of God. that's right, if you don't first show God that you love him and do your best. Become a doer of the Word not just a hearer and then you will reap rewards. Your life will be more abundant.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Don't worry about tommorrow, God will take care of business. If you trust in him and let him lead you, you will receive wonderful rewards. Not only in Heaven, but here now on the Earth!
So I hope this helps you ease your mind. God is always in control, even when you think that everything is about to crash, and perhaps it will, he is still there. He knows what's best for us all. It's going to happen whether we worry about it or not.
God Bless, See you next week.
